May is here, which typically means ski season is gone. But that doesn't have to be the case, especially in years like this one with enough snow to make Al Gore look crazy. In fact, high above Whistler, B.C., things are just getting good. Publ.Date : Wed, 14 May 2008 20:59:38 GMT
The tree skiing in Vermont is the best it’s been in five years. No question about it. Take last Sunday at Okemo, for example. Everything was open and everything had more than an adequate cover. It was actually easy to forget it was mid-March. Publ.Date : Fri, 16 May 2008 06:14:34 GMT

The U.S. Disabled Alpine Ski Team kicked off the 2008-09 season with a fundamentals and free-skiing camp at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area May 4, with 2007 World Cup champ Stephani Victor and Laurie Stephens making a return after injuries last season. Publ.Date : Wed, 14 May 2008 16:47:57 GMT
The summit of Wolf Creek Pass outside of Woodland, UT is 45 minutes from Heber City, UT. As you can see, there is still an average of about 6 feet of snow on top of the pass. There are beautiful trees, meadows, and views which make the skiing even more enjoyable. Enjoy the photos and video! Publ.Date : Tue, 13 May 2008 08:09:59 GMT
MAZAMA - The state will close the North Cascades Highway from Mazama to Newhalem at 6 a.m. Friday due to an increasing threat of avalanches from unstable snow conditions created by hot weather. Publ.Date : Fri, 16 May 2008 10:10:51 GMT
It took a while, but spring seems to have finally arrived in Utah. Snow pounded the mountains, creating some memorable skiing, but profits for ski resorts were less impressive. It was a snowy season nationwide, so many stayed close to home. The bad economy may have also played a role. Fox 13's Katy Carlyle has the story. Publ.Date : Mon, 12 May 2008 06:33:46 GMT
Just 72 hours ago, we were in the 50s with a light rain -- typical of March. Today, we're expected to emulate August as temperatures soar into the 80s. And now, Flood Watches have been issued for a few rivers due to rapid snow melt. Publ.Date : Fri, 16 May 2008 18:26:30 GMT
McLean, VA (May 8, 2008) -- The snow sports products market grew by $280 million to reach $2.97 billion for the 2007.08 season, up from approximately $2.69 billion in all channels last season. Publ.Date : Wed, 14 May 2008 08:09:49 GMT
The snow just keeps coming in the high mountains of Colorado. That's great news for people who are still enjoying great skiing conditions at Arapahoe Basin. FOX 31 Meteorologist Erin Little reports. Publ.Date : Tue, 13 May 2008 11:48:33 GMT
